Easy Slip Night Adult Diaper Review

Summary

The Easy Slip Night is a plastic-backed night-rated diaper produced by Forma-Care. It appears to be a more affordable alternative to the Forma Care X-Plus line and the comfort and fit are similar. However, whereas the X-Plus could consistently absorb 2 wettings, this diaper will only reliably absorb a single wetting before leakage might be a concern. In that way it may actually be better for day wear rather than overnight wear if you tend to wet multiple times in the night. But if you can make it work, this diaper is surprisingly affordable with a good price-to-absorbency ratio.

During testing I found the Easy Slip Night to be comfortable and durable, which was surprising given the relatively small tapes. Unlike the Forma-Care X-Plus this diaper doesn’t have waistbands, but I found it quite easy to get a snug fit regardless. The padding on this diaper is also quite thin when dry so it can potentially be worn with some level of discretion. This diaper is relatively difficult to find outside Europe, but if you can find a package I highly recommend it.

Surface Dampness Rating: 6

The Easy Slip Night did not perform well in terms of surface dampness during the capacity test with visible surface dampness after the first wetting. However, in real world wear it was surprisingly good when it came to surface dampness, far better than others that showed early surface dampness like the Depend Protection with Tabs. Surface dampness was only really an issue on the second wetting, but it’s not really designed for a full second wetting.

The Easy Slip Night provides a reasonable degree of daily wear protection. The first wetting while standing showed no sign of leakage, though with a brief bit of pooling/surface dampness. There was no leakage upon sitting shortly after and the surface dampness largely subsided. The second wetting while seated completely saturated the front of the diaper with some minor seepage into the sides and substantial leakage through the rear leg gathers. At this point moisture had wicked throughout the padding and it was clearly saturated though still relatively comfortable. I expect this diaper can reliably take 1 full wetting without leakage during daily wear but wouldn’t push it past that.

The Easy Slip Night performed decently when tested while lying down, though far from the best. The first wetting was absorbed fully and quickly and afterward there was only a limited sensation of dampness. The moisture was fully absorbed and I didn’t feel any risk of pressout leakage at this point. On the second wetting there was a substantial leak through the rear leg gathers and I called the test at that. I think this diaper can reliably handle one wetting while lying down but the padding was saturated quickly on the second one and I doubt it would ever handle 2 without leaking. The performance was comparable to the Tranquility ATN or Attends Slip Active M10.

Daily Wear and Bedwetting

The Easy Slip Night provides a good level of protection for a relatively thin and low priced diaper. It may be a little better suited to daily wear as I found it could only reliably absorb a single wetting and more often than not the second wetting would result in leaks. Even so, if you’re not a heavy overnight wetter this would be a good choice. Alternatively, it could be comparable to the premium diapers with the use of a good booster pad. It’s quite comfortable to wear and worlds ahead of others in a comparable category like the Depend Protection with Tabs or Attends Care Poly Briefs, which also have a plastic-backsheet. After a single wetting in either of those diapers you could really feel the dampness, almost like a wet sponge, whereas the Easy Slip does a good job at distributing moisture in a way that surface dampness is hardly noticeable. Moveover, it has an unusually large area of padding to distribute moisture. That’s not to say it’s totally foolproof. On a few occasions during daily wear I found there could be very small leaks through the leg gathers after a single wetting when seated for a long duration. There were no such issues when worn for bedwetting or more active daily wear. The durability was right up there with what I might expect for a more premium diaper and comparable to the Forma-Care X-Plus. Since the same company produces both, this could be a lower absorbency run of the same line. I found the fit wasn’t too different or even perhaps a bit easier than the Forma-Care X-Plus. I’d rate the absorbency at a similar level to the Tranquility ATN, but I found this one to be a little more durable.

Suitability for Bowel Incontinence: 9

The Easy Slip Night has strong tapes and features extensive rear padding, making it a good choice for managing bowel incontinence. It also has generous standing inner leak guards and a snug enough fit to keep odors from escaping. Above all that, there’s a decent pocket in the rear. The only potential downside is the lack of absorbency/potential surface dampness issues but I don’t think those take much away from it in this regard.

Wear & Tear Tests

Fitting

The Easy Slip Night features a soft plastic backsheet and double-tape fastener. The tapes are relatively small like the Forma-Care X-Plus but are high quality and can be refastened multiple times. They hold well and are unlikely to come loose when properly fastened.

3.1 Easy Slip Night Fastener

Ease-of-Use Rating: 8

The Easy Slip Night is a fairly user-friendly diaper. The tapes are a bit on the small side but they hold well and are easy to position to give a snug fit. The use of a double-tape mechanism means this diaper needs to have proper tape placement on the first try and they can not be repositioned afterwards. It also features a wetness indicator and standing inner leak guards. Removing this diaper is easy, but care should be given to ensuring the tape is correctly reapplied if needed. On the plus side, the tapes hold well and won’t easily come loose. I rank it similar to the Forma-Care X-Plus in this regard.

3.2 Easy Slip Night Diaper Fit

Comfort Rating (dry): 9

The Easy Slip Night is quite comfortable when dry. I wouldn’t rank it among the most comfortable, but it has a soft plastic-backsheet that doesn’t overheat. The padding is comparable in softness to the Tranquilty ATN but a bit more durable and resistant to clumping or tearing. Moreover, I’ve never had a problem getting a snug fit with these diapers and the tapes hold well after application (though sometimes you need to give them a good push). Some extra features like waistbands might be nice and the padding could be a little softer but otherwise I can’t really find faults in this diaper in terms of dry comfort.

Comfort Rating (wet): 8

The Easy Slip Night is surprisingly comfortable when wet, with the caveat being its somewhat limited absorbency of about 1~2 wettings before leakage. After a single wetting the feel wasn’t considerably different from how it felt in its dry state and it wasn’t prone to clamminess. This diaper does a good job at wicking moisture and the padding doesn’t feel particularly damp when wet; it has a large area of padding to wick through. Moreover, it remains resistant to padding deterioration so you won’t experience much in the way of discomfort due to clumping or tearing. The tapes were another surprise, holding surprisingly well under added weight and I found the diaper retained its snug fit in both the wet and dry states. The only downsides relate to its limited absorbency, where I have experienced pooling and at times pooled moisture can sometimes make it between the inner leak guards and leg gathers where it can’t be completely absorbed.

The Easy Slip Night performed similarly to the Forma-Care X-Plus when it came to dry durability. In the dry durability test it was worn for up to 12 hours under normal activity with only minimum deterioration and none in critical portions of the padding. The tapes held up the whole time and the wetness indicator was only slightly affected by minor drips and dribbles. While this diaper doesn’t have waistbands I don’t find that to be much of a factor in maintaining its snug fit and it performs better than others like the Tranquility ATN or Beesana Super Slip in this regard, but is not quite up to the durability of the Drylife SlipSuper.

The Easy Slip Night performed well during the wet durability test. Its tapes showed no sign of sliding and the padding continued to be resistant to clumping and tearing. It performed quite well in the shake test, which supports the padding durability findings. I never had any issues with this diaper sagging; but that may not be a fair comparison against some because this one will only absorb a single wetting without leaking. It’s not the most durable on the market but not that far from the top either, I never had a significant failure of any sort with this diaper.

I was a bit surprised by how much this diaper showed with front and rear “puffiness” given its relatively compact fit. I rank it a little better than the Forma-Care X-Plus in this regard, because the thinner padding makes this a little easier to conceal under clothing. I do feel some care would be needed to conceal this diaper, but it’s far from producing the most obvious diaper bulges you’ll find.

Noise

Noise Rating: 7

The Easy Slip Night is one of the quieter diapers on the market, particularly among those with a plastic-backsheet. I rarely noticed noise from this diaper, even when walking. Where it stood out most was when sitting, but even then it was surprisingly quiet and I’m sure it would have been even better under underwear or meshpants. I believe it owes this noise discretion to the soft flexible plastic of its backsheet and little separation between the padding and the backsheet, a common trait among the better performing diapers in this category but I can’t quite rank it near the top.

Odor Reduction

Odor Reduction Rating: 9
I have no real complaints when it comes to the odor reducing abilities of the Easy Slip Night. I never noticed any odors during testing and the snug fit would be a big bonus for those with fecal incontinence. My only concern might be its tendency for surface dampness, but I didn’t find this to be much of a problem. Forma-Care must be doing something right in this regard.
