Summary
The Seni Super Quatro is a premium European diaper at the top of the line in Seni products when it comes to absorbency. This diaper is rated with overnight absorbency but would also make a great choice for daily wear. It is among the most comfortable products on the market with a breathable cloth-like backing and front/rear waistbands. Personally, I’m not typically a fan of cloth-backed diapers but this is one of the rare ones I’d be happy to wear regularly were it cheaper/more accessible, particularly for the warmer months. The padding and backsheet of the Seni Super Quatro are soft/flexible and unlikely to cause significant friction when worn. In spite of its breathability, its sides and leg gathers do an excellent job at repelling moisture (albeit with the occasional glitch). During testing it was consistently able to absorb 2~3 wettings without leakage. It also proved highly durable and held up well both when dry or wet. If you can get a hold of the Seni Super Quatro I highly recommend giving it a try.

Surface Dampness Rating: 9
The Seni Super Quatro performed well during surface dampness tests with no significant dampness on the first 3 wettings. It also performed well during real world testing, with its breathability assisting the dampness resistant padding in reducing perceivable dampness. It wasn’t quite at the level of the BetterDry/Crinklz diaper due to lesser absorbency but still among the best I’ve tested.

Standing-Sitting
Total Absorbed Volume: 1567 ml (55.3 oz)
Total Wettings: 4 (1 standing, 3 sitting)
Leaked After Sitting: No
Used to Total Padding Ratio: 84%
Padding to Absorbency Score: 1.09 ml / cm2 (0.25 oz / in2)
Standing-Sitting Rating: 9
The Seni Super Quatro demonstrated good performance in the standing-sitting test. The first wetting was quickly absorbed and after about a minute or two there was little perceivable surface dampness. The second wetting wicked up the front of the diaper with a little more sensation of surface dampness initially but the leak guards kept it contained and it was again quickly absorbed in the padding. During the third wetting moisture pushed up the front and into the rear padding. It felt as though some escaped into the sides but was redirected to the back padding where it was absorbed rather than leaking. Once again no leakage was absorbed, but there was noticeably more surface dampness and it felt like there was greater potential for leakage on this wetting. The sides also continued to feel damp well after the wetting even though nothing leaked through. After the experience in the third wetting, it was clear the diaper was going to leak on the fourth wetting and that’s exactly what happened. Once again moisture pushed up the front and through the sides and this time a little was able to leak out from the sides. Remarkably, even at this level of saturation the leg gathers again prevented any significant leakage and the leak that happened was relatively small. There was also quite a bit of unused padding at the rear when the test ended so with better rear channeling perhaps it could have done a little better. I feel this diaper could comfortably absorb 2~3 wettings during active daily wear, but I wouldn’t push it to 4.
Lying Down
Total Absorbed Volume: 1562 ml (55.1 oz)
Total Wettings: 4
Used to Total Padding Ratio: 90%
Padding to Absorbency Score: 1.09 ml / cm2 (0.25 oz / in2)
Lying Down Rating: 9
The Seni Super Quatro performed very well in the lying down test. The first wetting was absorbed rapidly with little sensation of surface dampness. Afterwards it was barely noticeable. The second wetting was absorbed quickly with only a brief sensation of surface moisture, after fully absorbed the surface moisture was barely perceivable. The third wetting was noticeably more damp but showed no signs of leakage and moisture was efficiently wicked through the diaper’s rear. Once absorbed there was a little more surface dampness but not enough to detract too much from the diaper’s comfort. The fourth wetting was particularly interesting, it clearly pushed the diaper past its saturation point and there was plenty of standing moisture (particularly near the rear leg gathers). However, the leg gathers completely contained the moisture and it didn’t leak from the legs or side, instead the most significant leakage occurred out of the very back. The leakage was significant, yet the diaper had absorbed a lot to that point. I feel the Seni Quatro could safely handle 3 (or perhaps even 4) wettings while laying down, placing it among the top performers.

Daily Wear and Bedwetting
Although the Seni Super Quatro doesn’t reach the ranks of the most absorbent adult diapers I’ve rated, it’s a very well rounded product. It easily makes top absorbency ranks among cloth-backed diapers. In terms of comfort this diaper was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever tried with a very soft/breathable design. There was never anything resembling a sensation of clamminess when wearing this diaper dry or wet. The front and rear waistbands were soft and flexible, enhancing the fit to give it a snug feel and countered sagging. The padding is well distributed and the leg gathers/inner leak guards are generous in proportions and quite leak resistant. This diaper also is a standout for its durability, although I feel the tapes still aren’t quite on par with the top performing plastic-backed adult diapers like the BetterDry/Crinklz. In real world wear I found this diaper was comfortable to wear under most clothing and relatively easy to hide. It seemed well suited for active daily or warm weather wear with its breathability and durability. In terms of absorbency it makes both an excellent bedwetting or daytime diaper, with perhaps a slight advantage with respect to bed wetting because of its extensive rear coverage. However, I did find that occasionally moisture can jump the leak guards and get stuck between the leak guards and leg gathers unable to be absorbed by the padding well before saturation; when this happens you’re almost certain to get a leak with any sort of movement as that moisture seeps through weaknesses in the leg gathers. The sides of the diaper, while breathable, also feature impressive moisture resistance but moisture that makes it to the sides can also get trapped between the leak guards and leg gathers. I’ve never had this diaper leak on the first wetting and I feel realistically it should be good for 2~3 wettings without small leaks or perhaps 3~4 wettings without major leaks.Suitability for Bowel Incontinence: 9
The Seni Super Quatro appears well suited for bowel incontinence despite being cloth-backed (which would typically be a disadvantage). The inclusion of a rear waistband, large/strong inner leak guards and extensive rear coverage are perfectly suited for containment. In testing, I found it quite odor resistant and its durability would also be a major plus for those with bowel incontinence. This diaper is also quite flexible and features a generous amount of space under the rear for bowel containment.
Wear & Tear Tests
Fitting
The Seni Super Quatro features a cloth-backing with two repositionable tapes per side allowing the diaper to be adjusted and refastened multiple times. The tapes seem to be of reasonable quality and don’t cause considerable damage to the backsheet when refastened. They feature a mix of tape and three thin strips of hook and loop adhesive.
3.1 Seni Super Quatro Fastener |
Ease-of-Use Rating: 10
The Seni Super Quatro is a very user-friendly diaper, the tapes can be positioned anywhere on the backsheet and it’s quite easy to get a snug fit with the large flexible leg gathers and front/rear waistbands. The backsheet is soft and flexible and hugs the body when worn correctly. This diaper can also be removed with ease and I feel it would be a great choice for either personal wear or in a care setting.
3.2 Seni Super Quatro Fit |
Comfort
Comfort Rating (dry): 10
The Seni Super Quatro easily earns a spot among the top diapers for dry comfort. Both the topsheet and backsheet are very soft and cause little-to-no friction or skin irritation. It’s only slightly less soft than the Attends Premier Overnight, but I found the Seni Quatro to have the more comfortable fit. It fits snug but doesn’t feel tight and remains cool without sacrificing much in the way of moisture resistance. The padding holds up well under daily wear so you’re unlikely to experience the discomfort of tearing/clumping in the padding. Moreover, the front and rear waistband also enhance the comfort and are perhaps the softest on the market.
Comfort Rating (wet): 10
The Seni Super Quatro’s wet comfort was easily on par with its dry comfort and again among the best on the market. Unlike many cloth-backed diapers this diaper has a great fit and is highly resistant to sagging when wet. The padding provides excellent surface dampness protection for at least 2~3 wettings, feeling little different from its dry state. The padding itself holds up well when wet so comfort is unlikely to be affected by clumping or tearing. The padding also remains relatively soft when wet and does exhibit some swelling but not as much as other top performers like the Tena Slip Active Fit Ultima.
3.3 Seni Super Quatro Topsheet and Backsheet |
Durability
Dry Padding Deterioration Proportion: 0.6% (topsheet), 2.6% (backsheet)
Shake Deterioration Test: 4 shakes to deterioration
Durability Rating (dry): 10
The Seni Super Quatro proved exceptionally durable during the dry durability test. The padding and backsheet held up with little change in state from the start of the test in spite of over 10 hours of wear. The tapes were highly resistant to coming loose and appear to be a higher quality version of the Medline Extended Wear tapes. Also the wetness indicator was barely affected by sweat/surface dampness during the test. I didn’t test this diaper during more intense activity but I feel with its snug fit and light feel it may be well suited to more strenuous daily wear.
Durability Rating (wet): 10
The wet durability of the Seni Super Quatro proved equally impressive to its dry durability. During testing there was little-to-no padding clumping or tearing and the tapes held up even under the weight of a saturated diaper without shifting from their original positions. It performed around average on the wet shake test, but given the amount it absorbed even that was impressive. It’s tough to find any faults in this diaper for performance when wet, it's easily one of the most durable cloth-backed diapers on the market.
3.4 Seni Super Quatro Diaper Dry Test Deterioration |
Discretion Tests
Profile
Front Rise Above Waistline (Jeans, Sweatpants): 5 cm (2"), 4 cm (1.6")
Back Rise Above Waistline (Jeans, Sweatpants): 7.5 cm (3"), 5 cm (2")
Side Rise Above Waistline (Jeans, Sweatpants): 6.5 cm (2.6"), 3 cm (1.2")
Profile Discretion Rating: 7
Surprisingly, the thickness of Seni Super Quatro doesn’t have a substantial impact on its profile. I rate it similar to the Abena Delta-Form M3 in terms of profile discretion. I believe the thickness is somewhat mitigated by the flexible padding that allows it to partially collapse into the wearer’s outfight. Even so, it’s far from foolproof and you would still need to take care to avoid a diaper bulge.
4.1 Seni Super Quatro Jeans Profile (left) vs Normal Underwear (right) |
Noise
Noise Rating: 10
The Seni Super Quatro is very similar to the Medline Extended Wear when it comes to noise. It’s padding and backsheet cause little friction resulting in an ultra-quiet diaper. Even in a quiet room and even when wet you’d be hard pressed to detect any crinkling from this diaper distinguishable from the movement of regular clothing.
4.3 Seni Super Quatro Noise Profile |
Odor Reduction
Odor Reduction Rating: 10
The Seni Super Quatro has no added fragrance nor does the padding give off much in the way of fragrance. It has a cloth-backing but is well designed to contain odors with amazing leg gathers and a front/rear waistband. The padding itself also appears to have some odor reducing properties, though perhaps less so than the Tena Slip Ultima or Maxi. Even so, I feel this diaper deserves a top spot for odor reduction, with particularly impressive performance for having a cloth-like backsheet.

I gave these a go during the summer after reading the review and they were a good fit for the warmer months. I would definitely get them again next year when it gets warmer. Had no issues with them whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear this review was helpful! These are a great choice for warm weather, it's nice to have a breathable option that doesn't leak.
Deleteqold love to wear i want one to put on my self
ReplyDeleteThank you for your careful and thorough review of these diapers! I've been looking for an alternative to the NorthShore Supreme and these look like they're worth a try!
ReplyDeleteThis diaper fits me better than anything else I have ever found. Do you have any suggestions for a diaper with a similar fit? I wear a sz M.
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one since the Seni is quite a distinctive product. Maybe something like the Medline Extended Wear, Egosan Ultra or NorthShore Air Supreme. They won't be quite the same, but have some similarities on construction.
DeleteI seem to remember, years ago, that these were a LOT more absorbent, and at the same time had a much different design -- the Quatro had two red stripes on the outside, and the other absorbency lines had similar stripes of different colors (can't remember what was what, now).
ReplyDeleteIt'd been a number of years since I'd used them, so last year I decided to try them again. I was surprised at how much different they are from what I remember. I recall the previous Quatro being able to hold so much that the entire mat was wet, and they got really stiff when wet, almost to the point of discomfort (almost like wearing a cardboard box) -- but no leaks!
Maybe I'm mistaken about the brand? But two things I definitely remember: the red stripes and the "Quatro" name. I've tried to find the older design just to prove to myself that I'm not crazy, and a Google image search does turn up a few images, but it's almost like they never existed.
It's interesting that you mention that. I did some search and indeed there are images of them with blue or light red stripes but otherwise the structure looks pretty similar to the ones I reviewed. This review was from a few years ago so it's possible they've changed a bit since then, but I found them to be quite absorbent even if not the most absorbent on the market. Perhaps the ones sold in Europe differ from the ones sold in North America? I can't speak for how they currently are or were beyond 5 years ago, but let me know if you learn any more about the changes.
